BLT Lettuce Wraps

When I’m eating low-carb, I love using lettuce leaves in place of bread for everything from Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps, Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and even Steak Lettuce Taco Wrap. BLTs are no exception! There is something about the flavor combination of a BLT that invokes childhood memories of sitting around mom’s kitchen table, it’s funny how the flavors of food can trigger a memory. Oh what I would give to be a kid for a day again! Back then mom made it on white bread, but today I enjoy them just as much on a lettuce wrap, same great flavors without the carbs. See all my lettuce wrap recipes here!

This is easy to make ahead for lunch on the go, you can use turkey bacon, low sodium or nitrate-free bacon or even meatless bacon, whatever your preference. I usually use center cut bacon which is sliced close to the bone so it’s slightly leaner than regular bacon but tastes just like the real thing.

How To Make Lettuce Wraps

Lettuce wraps are low-carb, keto, gluten-free and low calorie, and don’t interfere with the flavors of the filling. A few tips when making lettuce wraps:

  • Look for lettuce leaves that are large enough to hold the filling. I like to use iceberg lettuce for larger cups. Romaine lettuce and baby romaine are also great.
  • The leaves of butter or boston lettuce are smaller, but also wonderful.
  • If you prefer, you can turn this into a big chopped salad by simply serving this over a bowl over chopped lettuce.

  2. Such a quick and easy lunch option! I used butter lettuce and it was fabulous! Yum! Thanks for the terrific recipe ❤️

  3. My lettuce leaves  didn’t cooperate, but oh how tasty!  Whether rolled up or not, the taste of summer was awesome!

Yum! I do ketogenic so I’ll be adding full fat mayo and home made pork bellies–possibly some small scallops for dinner!

  7. I wrap my bacon, lettuce, and tomato in provolone cheese. Sometimes change it up with mustard instead of mayo.

  8. Eating mayo makes me sick so I think I am going to mash some avocado and use that instead. I'm so excited for this easy but delicious lunch recipe. Avocado and bacon you can't go wrong.

  9. OH MAN. I just made these. I didn't add the mayo. Just put the shredded lettuce, chopped tomato and bacon pieces in the lettuce cup and rolled. It was DELICIOUS!!! I shared the recipe on Facebook!

I just ate a BLT after my Work out, i used a regular tortilla and used reg mustard not too fond of mayonnaise, from this point on im cutting out the bread. Thanks for the recipe

  12. This is a delicious recipe. It has all the tast I'd expect from a BLT, and it might actually taste better, without the bread in the way of the tomato and bacon. I used romaine lettuce when I tried this, because we didn't have any iceberg. It was good, but I think iceberg would have been much easier to roll.

Either way, a delicious recipe. Good work.

  13. Just found your site and am so excited. The recipes look great! My son-in-law follows the Paleo diet and so many of these recipes would fit right in. Thanks!

  14. Hi Gina, thanks for your recipes, I love each and every one I have tried 🙂 What can I use instead of bacon? I live in Israel, and it is hard to find… Thanks!!

  15. How lucky am I to have found this recipe today? I was just discussing a diet with my doctor this morning, and he recommended low carb. I have been starving not knowing what to eat for lunch. You just made my day. Off to see what else you have here for those of us who love food but not looking like we do! I pinned this one too!

I don't eat mayonnaise, but I love honey mustard. I know that can be just as fattening for you. Would low fat honey mustard be the same equivalent as light mayo?

  17. I am taking a moment while eating this for lunch right now! This is so delicious and exactly what I was looking for. It is so hot here in Texas and my body needs fresh and cool. Perfect. Thanks Gina!

  18. I love this recipe! I just made this for lunch and it was great- bonus, I don't feel guilty for eating too much but I am still satisfied. Thanks for so many great healthy recipes Gina!

Made this for dinner tonight as a TALT wrap (tempeh, avacado, lettuce, and tomato)cruelty free and healthy! Always fun to veganize a recipe.Served with homemade steak fries.Very good classic recipe 🙂

  20. I love lettuce wrap. I added chicken to mine to make it more satisfying. I have to eat Gluten Free to recipes like these make it so easy for me. The gluten free breads don't really taste so well so I love anything I can put into a lettuce wrap. Thank you.

  21. I tried these last night for dinner and they were absolutely delicious! I will definitely be having them on a regular basis!

  22. This might sound odd but I don't like tomatoes. Do you think it'd be good with maybe roasted red peppers instead?

  23. These were delicious, so simple but just perfect. I brought these to the beach the other day and just assembled as i ate them. Perfect summer lunch!

  24. Sooo good! But mine were really messy, maybe because I used romaine lettuce instead of ice burg. Thank you for the recipe though, I'll be eating these all summer.

  25. omg soo gooddd,! i didn't use the lettuce wrap, i used a low carb high fiber tortilla and the points ended up being the same with 1 tbsp of smart balance mayo and 2 pieces of bacon (one per wrap, i like bacon but 4 is a little bit too much). it came out delicious and was super fast to make during my lunch break!!

  26. These are much lunch for the week – though I decided to go for the extra points of putting everything in a pita. Using the Boar's Head Bacon was only 3 points so even with the pita is still a 6 point lunch. Such a fabulous summer lunch.

  27. My husband loved this! We aren't mayo people so we just had it with the B, the L, and the T. Really good! Thanks!!!

  28. Well, when I go to weightwatchers.com and look up Oscar Meyer Center Cut bacon..4 slices is 2 pts plus,So you add the 1 pts plus of mayo, and its 3 pts per serving. So, I counted the 2 wraps I just ate for 3 pts. =) And let me tell ya.. SOOOOO good!!!! Thanks for the recipe!

  29. This is my fav. recipe! I've done it 2 and while I'm on a diet! Love it, because its stodgy and healthy. Thanks, Gina! You make me look so slim 🙂

Whenever muy lettuce leaves don't cooperate, I shred them and serve the tomatoes and bacon on top. : )

  31. I made these for lunch – I love bacon, so this was a great treat! The lettuce leaves would not stay in one piece, so it was very messy. It might have worked better for me as a salad, but the flavor was just great. I like Light Miracle Whip, so I used that instead of light mayo and got 2 tbsp. instead of just one.

I'm doing the old points, so this was 2 points for the bacon and 1 point for the Light Miracle Whip. 3 points – what a deal! You are awesome, Gina.

    I love BLT salads!!

If you hate tomato you could use avocado instead, the points would increase but I'm sure it would be good!

I'm not sure how cream cheese would effect the points, you'll have to plug it into recipe builder and see.

  33. I love BLTs but I usually make them with cream cheese instead of mayo b/c i have a strong hatred for the stuff. Would it make a huge difference if I used low fat or fat free cream cheese?

  34. Any ideas of what I could substitute for the tomato? The husband and I both have a serious dislike of tomatoes but I'd still love to try these…just need an idea of making it a bit heartier. Thanks, Sarah

  35. I made these tonight and I think I might be in love. It took me less than 30 minutes to get it together and they are SO yummy. A perfect meal for summer!

  36. OMG I loved this I tweaked it a little bit and made a honey mustard sauce.. my husband said it reminded him of the wraps from McDonalds..

  37. yummy!!! i made a blt salad last night and you inspired a blog post!!! your recipes are AWESOME. thank you!!!

    http://theclevelanddilemma.blogspot.com/2011/05/blt-salad.html

  38. This inspired me! I made a BLT salad last night. Found a dressing recipe that was half of a tomato grated thru a grater down to the skin, some light mayo, white vinegar, garlic powder and pepper. Mixed it with romaine lettuce then put tomatoes on top and crumbled bacon. SO SO good! I also put some avocado on it too.

I'm interested to know, too, if the Points Plus value changes if you don't add any mayo?

Yep, 4 slices of reduced fat bacon is 3 Points Plus so no may would make this an even skinnier lunch. (same for 4 slices turkey bacon).

I just updated the points, it is 4 points plus using Oscar Meyer Center Cut Bacon, turkey bacon or vegan bacon would be lower in points. Different brands may also vary so you may want to use your recipe builder for accuracy.

  41. You are genius! Why don't I think of these things. Simple ingredients, but man does it look delicious!

  42. I have the pkg in my frig. A serving size is 3 slices, 4.5 fat,0carb. 7 protein, 0 fiber = 2pt. I calculated 1 1/3 servings on my tracker, for 2 points. Is that right?

  43. Avatar photo
    Gina @ Skinnytaste

Sally, I tossed the package but I looked up the nutritional info online and I still get the same thing. Anyone else getting less points?

  44. These look so bomb dot com. LOVE BACON, and even turkey bacon has a place in my heart. I can't wait to try this. Never would have thought of this.

    Hi Gina
Please re-check your pts. Center cut Oscar Mayer bacon is 2 pts for four slices, and the mayonaisse is 1 pt. So two wraps are only 3 pts.

  46. This looks awesome! I'd serve them at a party as an appetizer or at a barbecue. Such a great idea, never would have thought of this. Thanks so much for sharing!

@ anonymous- If you don't use mayo, the points would only be for the bacon.

I can't wait to try this with fresh tomatoes from the garden. YUM!

What a great idea! Why didn't I think of it sooner? What a great way to enjoy the typical indulgence without all those pesky carbs and fat. Thanks! This will be on my summer menu!

These look yummy. I like how you added extra lettuce chopped up, good idea. Funny how foods bring back memories. BLTs are something my mom would make in the summer…heaven forbid she turn on the oven when it was above 80.

  50. As a lady, I really do care about what goes into my tummy, and this wrap is just what I need in my diet.THanks for sharing.

  51. This looks mighty tasty! When we go grocery shopping I'm stocking up on these ingredients! 😉 Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    1. I was just thinking about adding avocado instead of tomatos for my husband who has to eat gluten free and acid free. It is really hard to make both types of food.
